LAU is a formidable union of three of the finest and most innovative exponents of modern traditional music in Scotland today: Kris Drever (guitar and vocal), Martin Green (piano accordion) and Aidan O’Rourke (fiddle). In the last eighteen months LAU has become one of the most sought-after acts on the live music circuit. The summer of 2007 saw them take festivals by storm across Europe and North America. The Autumn took them to Japan and Cape Breton, it has become a world-wide party! At the same time, their debut album "Lightweights & Gentlemen" was released to critical acclaim.

2008 has already been a very good year for LAU. In February, the Scottish-English acoustic trio appeared at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, where they beat off hefty new-folk competition to win the Best Group award. They were also shortlisted for Best Live Act and Best Album (Lightweights & Gentlemen) and their theatrical accordion player Martin Green was amongst those nominated for Musician of the Year.
