Fochabers

The town of Fochabers, with a population of around 2,000, lies on the banks of the River Spey about three miles from the coast in the county of Moray. Fochabers enjoys a rich musical and cultural heritage. In the past, it was home to the famous Scottish fiddler, William Marshall, and today, to a whole host of young ( and not so young ) fiddlers inspired by Speyfest Chairman James Alexander. Speyfest, now in it's 15th year, attracts thousands of visitors to Fochabers each summer. You are advised to book your accommodation as early as possible.

By Bus: There is a regular bus service from Aberdeen and Inverness.
By Rail: Nearby Keith and Elgin have rail services from Aberdeen and Inverness.
By Air: Fochabers is approximately a 1-hour drive from both Aberdeen and Inverness airports.

Speyfest Weekend

The tented village at The Playing Fields, East Street, Fochabers is the main venue for Speyfest. Two stages, a fully licensed beer tent, a variety of high quality on-site catering and all the facilities required to run a successful festival mean that you won't need to leave the site! But should you choose to venture further afield, the heart of Fochabers is just a two minute walk away.

In the week leading up to the main event at the tented village, Speyfest has a base at The Fochabers Institute in the heart of Fochabers. Seating and tickets for the "In Session" nights will be limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
